Service Technician

Department: Service

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Directly responsible to provide ongoing technical support to customers, end users, distributors and sales team to ensure optimum customer satisfaction. Assist with manufacturing, supply chain, shipping, and facility operations as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Based in Sunnyvale, CA to provide technical support for worldwide locations

    1. Maintain a high level of personal standards and conduct

    2. Diagnose, troubleshoot, resolve and/or repair AEssense equipment remotely or in the field as required

    3. Explain and train AEssense associates, customers, and others on product maintenance and service

    4. Provide support 24/7 on a rotating basis

    5. Travel as needed to provide field support, sometimes with short notice

    6. Possess a thorough knowledge of company’s service programs and implement according to the highest customer service standards

    7. Troubleshoot and repair to the assembly/component level

    8. Document service and support actions; record test and performance data

    9. Provide support for customer’s technical questions and problems by phone, smart app, email, etc.

    10. Collaborate with the other departments and share information across the organization

    11. Report product failures and concerns into the AEssense Quality Corrective Action system

    12. Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • University bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred, or in place of a degree, 5+ years of relevant experience

    1. Positive, collaborative attitude towards problem-solving

    2. Ability to deliver high quality documentation with attention to detail

    3. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills in English

    4. Great interpersonal skills

    5. Self-motivated, innovative, and creative

    6. Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in writing and/or verbally

    7. Ability to work flexible hours and work around a changing schedule

    8. Ability to work independently without much supervision; ability to manage time effectively

    9. Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job which include bending and lifting of heavy equipment

    10. Must have a high level of mechanical aptitude

    11. Ability to operate a forklift

    12. Ability to travel within and out of the United States

MOST DIFFICULT PROBLEMS WHICH MUST BE SOLVED

  • Organizing and prioritizing of customer installations, repairs and replacement parts

  • Product troubleshooting and documentation

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

  • Limited to broad guidelines post-training
